Every piercing starts with a short conversation. We check the placement against your anatomy, talk through jewellery options and healing time, and only then open a sterile needle in front of you.

Piercings are walk-in friendly, but a quick call ahead means your jewellery is ready and there's no wait. Under 18s need a parent or guardian present with ID.

Piercings we do in Pune, and how long they take to heal

Healing times below are typical ranges. Everyone heals differently, and cartilage always takes longer than soft tissue. We go over your placement in person before we pierce.

  • Ear lobe: the easiest first piercing. Usually around 6 to 8 weeks to heal.
  • Ear cartilage (helix, tragus, conch and more): plan for roughly 6 to 12 months. Avoid sleeping on that side while it heals.
  • Nose (nostril): commonly 4 to 6 months. A stud is usually more comfortable than a ring at first.
  • Septum: often 2 to 3 months, and it can be flipped up out of sight when needed.
  • Navel (belly button): one of the slower ones, often 6 to 12 months, because clothing rubs on it.
  • Eyebrow and lip: typically around 6 to 8 weeks for the first stage of healing.

Why we pierce with a needle, not a gun

Piercing guns force a blunt stud through the skin and cannot be fully sterilised between clients. A hollow piercing needle is single-use, opened in front of you, and makes a clean channel that heals faster and with less swelling. Every piercing at Bhikshu is done with a fresh needle and implant-grade jewellery.

Piercing aftercare

  • Clean twice a day with sterile saline spray and pat dry with clean paper, not a towel.
  • Don't twist or turn the jewellery, and touch it only with freshly washed hands.
  • Keep out of swimming pools, hot tubs and the sea until it has healed.
  • Don't change the jewellery early. Come back and we will downsize or swap it when it is ready.
  • If it gets very red, hot or painful, call us. Check-ups during healing are free.
