Service Steps
Every tattoo at Bhikshu starts with a conversation. We talk through your idea, size and placement, then design a piece made only for you before any needle touches skin.
- A free design consultation with the artist who will do your tattoo
- Fresh single-use needles and a fully sterilised setup, every session
- Aftercare guidance you can call us about any time after your session
What makes a good colour tattoo
Colour tattoos rely on contrast as much as on colour. The pieces that hold up best mix bright pigment with darker shading or outlines, so the design keeps its shape as the skin ages. Colour realism (flowers, animals, portraits), illustrative work and neo-traditional designs all sit in this family.
Colour on Indian skin tones
Ink sits under the top layer of skin, so your natural skin tone acts like a tinted filter over every colour. Deep reds, oranges, greens, blues and purples read strongly on wheatish and darker skin. Pale yellows, pastels and white highlights show much less and can fade into the skin. At the consultation we can test-swatch colours and adjust the palette so the finished piece looks the way you imagine it.
Healing and keeping colour bright
Colour work usually takes longer to pack than black and grey, and bigger pieces are split across sessions. Sun is the biggest cause of fading: once healed, use a high-SPF sunscreen on the tattoo whenever it is exposed. Most colour pieces benefit from a touch-up after the first full heal.
